Capcom had plenty to showcase at E3 this week ranging from brand new titles to sequels of popular titles and beyond. One thing that can certainly be said is that Capcom knows how to produce a good trailer. Try to contain your excitement with the following viewing pleasures.
Come the close of E3, Asura’s Wrath will surely pick up a nomination for angriest game unveiled. Asura’s Wrath is aiming to deliver a fresh take on the action gaming genre. After 12,000 years in the abyss it may be fair to say that Asura is a little miffed. What follows is seemingly an action packed adventure with plenty of action and impressive visuals. Asura’s Wrath looks to seamlessly blend action with narrative and will adopt an episodic nature. No release date has been stated so players will have to contain their rage for a moment.
Resident Evil Revelations
Built from the ground up for the Nintendo 3DS, Resident Evil Revelations sees a return to survival horror, revealing a brand new storyline for the series. Taking place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, the action centres on BSAA member Jill Valentine and introduces her new partner Parker Luciani. Set principally on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, players will be able to take control of Jill on her search for Chris Redfield, whose last known GPS data positions him as being on the ship. Danger lurks around every corner and with nowhere to run or hide in the confined space of the ship, players must face a menacing new enemy that emerges from the darkness.
DmC Devil May Cry
Dante’s got a new look but still packs a ferocious punch. Capcom unveiled a new trailer at E3 with plenty of hacking, slashing and slicing action going on. It seems that there will be no shortage of enemies present but Dante is equipped to deal with any foe.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City
Plenty of running and gunning to be seen in this E3 trailer from Capcom. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City certainly looks exciting, although may seem like an unnecessary departure to Resident Evil fans. However, action fans can rejoice as players battle Bio-Organic Weapons along with Zombies that Resident Evil titles are so famous for. Players can embark on the campaign coo-operatively with three other players, or can engage in a number of competitive modes.
Street Fighter X Tekken
Street Fighter goes toe to toe with Tekken in this release from Capcom. Popular characters from both series will be represented in the first of two crossover titles. Early indications are that this title will appeal to fans of both series, if not fans of the fighting game genre as a whole. If you like flashy combos, this is a trailer you do not want to miss.
Dragon’s Dogma is set in an open world and will feature beasts of all shapes and sizes. With a party of three Pawns, players set out on an epic adventure to track down and destroy a mysterious dragon. The trailer itself features plenty of mythological beasts and should give players an idea of what to expect.
Dead Rising 2 Off the Record
Frank West is back in the game! Dead Rising 2: Off the Record sees the return of photojournalist Frank West as he takes centre stage in this reimagining of the Fortune City outbreak. This new “Off the Record” storyline means a new Dead Rising™2 experience. Frank will face off against more twisted enemies and build more outrageous combo weapons. Plus, it's got drivable clown cars.
Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition
Capcom may be continually driving the fighting genre forward but looks to the past for inspiration with Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition. The title features improved graphics, YouTube integration, and online multiplayer. At the same time Capcom has retained the original character balance that made the original title so popular and appealing.
