Dead Space 2 goes free-to-play for Playstation Plus subcribers
August looks like being a bumper month for Playstation Plus subscribers as a number of AAA titles including Dead Space 2 go free-to-play.
If you're a fan of Visceral's hugely impressive sci-fi horror game Dead Space 2, then you'll be delighted to hear the game has joined the ranks of Sony's Instant Games Collection, free for all Playstation Plus subscribers.

Squeezing the most out of the game during this period shouldn't be too difficult either, as the Severed DLC package is also half-price during this period, making August the perfect month to check out this chiller if it had previously passed you by.

Spearheading an excellent August update for the service, it is joined by other big hitters including Darksiders and Renegade Ops (until August 15th). Outland, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Saints Row 2, inFamous 2, MotorStorm Apocalypse and LittleBigPlanet 2.

A final offer on the service in August well worth checking out is newly-released tower-defence-pinball mashup Rock of Ages, which is also free to play until August 29th.
