Demolition Derby returns to Grid 2
And it's free...
It may not have been planned from the start, but Demolition Derby will soon be released as a free addition for Grid 2 across all platforms. This announcement is “100% driven by feedback from the community,” according to Codemasters. Work is underway on the mode, but no release schedule has been outlined yet. More news will be released in the coming weeks as Codemasters wants to get this content out “sooner rather than later.”

Codemasters also went into detail on its blog about a community patch, which will be released in August. This will include features that the community has been asking for including alterations to custom playlists, a new playlist called Hardcore Playlist (which removes flashbacks and turns on full mechanical damage), an increase in the level cap, and more.

Community Patch features:
  • Custom Playlist modifications
  • Hardcore Playlist added
  • Level Cap increased to 99
  • Fastest Lap Times added to online race results screen
  • New Liveries
  • Maximum Laps increased to 10
  • Veto Weighting altered
  • Mute your own microphone
  • Added Country Flags to name plate and on event results screen
  • Clean Race Bonus increased
  • Skip the Level up Graphic
  • Anti-Cheat improvements
