A Neo-Victorian First Person Stealther from the good folks at Arcane Studios (Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
, Bioshock 2
–Design Assistance), Dishonored
concerns Corvo, the assassinated Empress’ bodyguard falsely accused of her murder.
But that’s ok, because Corvo is a freakin voodoo ninja...
Some publisher no-one’s ever heard of, Bethesda
, Fallout 3
) are reimagining the Victorian era with walking spidery mechs, impregnable electrified barriers and a protagonist who can slow time.
And though you can’t spit for tagging a first person experience this weather, at least we can see his hands and feet. In fact, the stealth and traversal elements hinted at in the trailer echo of Mirror’s Edge
, the best games never launch their own sub genre...
Scheduled for release at some stage (we’d imagine the latter half of) 2012, Dishonoured
and its gorgeous debut CG trailer have done enough to arouse our interest. Hopefully it can find its mark in the coming months with some gameplay footage.
Or some stills of Corvo’s feet. It’s not First Person unless you can see your feet!
