Peyton and the Snow Pirates coming this summer
Lost Planet 3 is coming and we’ve got the confirmed release date, plus a story-filled trailer, below.

Originally an Xbox 360 exclusive back in 2006, the Lost Planet series spilled out into PS3 and PC as it continued, spawning a sequel in 2010 that returned players to the planet E.D.N. III as the snows receded, revealing a range of environments to explore in your mecha-bot-thing.

In 2013, Lost Planet is back – and things have changed a little. New developer Spark Unlimited are taking players back before the first game, to the same planet deep in a seemingly never-ending ice age. As one of the first human colonists on E.D.N. III, Jim Peyton is just looking to keep his head down and earn enough money from his mining job to get home to his family.

Things get complicated with Peyton finds out the new settlers aren’t the only ones living on the planet, and you find out plenty more story in the brand new trailer below.

It certainly looks likeLost Planet 3 will be putting the focus on story more than the previous titles in the series, with a quite an emotional struggle put before Peyton in his attempt to help the human settlers, known as Snow Pirates. It also looks like there’s more variety in the mech combat, as well as time spent in more traditional third person action.

If you can’t wait to find out more, publishers Capcom have just confirmed that Lost Planet 3 will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from the 25th of June in the US and June 28th in Europe.
