has confirmed that MineCon
will take place this year and will be held at a venue in Europe. Details are thin on the ground at the moment as a “secret location” is being scouted out. Mojang hopes that the venue will suit the conference and that it can then sign papers for the location and a date. Lydia Winters
confirmed on the Mojang website
that the team has been getting loads of questions and will be ready to announce all the details once everything is confirmed and agreements are in place.
This will be the second full-blown MineCon event after the 2011 event was held to coincide with the official release of Minecraft. Approximately 4,500 people of various ages and nationalities attended the event. Tickets for the event cost between $99 and $139, so that may give you an idea of what to expect for its second outing. If you are a fan of Minecraft, stay tuned for more information.
Mojang also took the time to confirm that it will be exhibiting at PAX Prime
. The event will take place in Seattle from August 31st until September 2nd.
