Sleeping Dogs devs may have shut down

United Front Games is the Vancouver based outfit behind the rather fun Sleeping Dogs but rumours have been swirling for the last day or so that the company might be closing for good.

This comes in the wake of little commercial success in recent years, and hot on the heels of the reveal of their early access title Smash+Grab, which nobody seemed much interested in.

The news seems all but confirmed with this post by producer Jen Timms.

Their official Twitter account was very active up until a couple of days ago retweeting coverage of Smash+Grab but has since gone silent. It seems like only a matter of time before the sad news is confirmed. We're sending good thoughts the way of the team members who will be looking for a new home.

What does that mean for Sleeping Dogs 2? Well publishers Square Enix still own the property and it seems like there's some interest in making it happen. But without an actual annoucement yet that won't be any time soon.
