PS4 Rumour Mill
It’s a grinding!
9 hours and counting...

Though Sony has repeatedly insisted their vaunted PS3 is still the focus and only now, after five years of sales, truly hitting its stride, the world reckons otherwise. Especially given the much publicized Playstation related press conference taking place in a few hours.

But will the fourth Playstation Home Console be revealed???

Yeah, probably. And if so, somehow, the PS4 will beat the Next-Gen Xbox to the announcement stage. Wonders folks, will they ever cease? And if VG247’s sources are to be believed, the PS4 might actually beat it to launch.

Not that the PS4 launch is anywhere near confirmed (nothing in this article is... besides the Author Name... I’m pretty sure that’s me... the big red one...) but a November 2013 release date has been circulating. Edge further validated this notion, suggesting the PS4 won’t reach European shores until 2014.

Pricing buzz is somewhat more specific, explicitly citing $429 and $529 for each version of the console. This is in keeping with Sony’s desire to launch the PS4 at a more competitive price than its predecessor.

Codenamed Orbis, Sony’s PS4 has reportedly been in development since late 2009, with videogamer.com stating R&D began in August 2010.

The PS4 specifications debates cannot (at least in this universe) be concluded before announcement time. Thus, just take a goosey at these PS4 development kits as of January 2013 and make up your own mind...

Smartphone and Playstation Eye integration has been gossiped, but their functions remain quite dimly defined.
Anti-pre-owned systems are long feared countermeasures expected to debut with the incoming generation. Mercifully, these anecdotes remain a little flaky. Purportedly, second hand games will grant access to a limited Trial-Mode before locking unregistered accounts out and asking for cash-monays!

More likely is word the PSN will be replaced by a PS4 online service “Playstation World”. According to Kotaku, this could mimic PS-Plus functionality but demand online subscriptions, alike Xbox Live, to any hoping to avail of PS4 online facilities.

Backwards compatibility is an issue arguably rectified by Playstation Cloud. This system was all but verified by Gaiki registering domains such as Playstation-Cloud.com, PlaystationCloud.org and Ps-Cloud.net.

Reliable Source type SuperDaE and Destructoid broke the PS4 controller overhaul, outlining the inclusion of an onboard touchpad with 2 point multitouch, headphone socket and integrated loudspeaker. Additionally there’s a multi-user account system and an enigmatic share button which might double as the current PS3 home button and might offer the opportunity to record and share gameplay footage.
A featue we at clickonline.com, are more than pleased with...

Aesthetically, this offers the most noticeable overhaul of the controller since the original Dualshock was introduced back in 1997.

And that’s pretty much it for PS4 rumours.
Rumours. Remember, that’s all they are... For now...
