Though the net is positively abuzz with Resident Evil 6
fever, especially following its blistering debut trailer
, it’s worth remembering Resident Evil: Revelations
is just around the corner.
Released on January 27th for those of you with a 3DS
, Revelations stars the much forgotten heroine of Resi 1 & 3, Jill Valentine
. And despite five straight minutes of narrative disclosure, what she was doing on the exploding city of Terragragia
or mixed up with bio-terrorists (and all round a-holes) Veltro
remains a mystery.
Set between the events of Resi 4&5, appearances by fellow protagonist Chris Redfield tantalise
, while the presence (and consequent demise?) of the mysterious Parker should hook your fancy.
Compatible with the 3DS
’ infinitely naff circle pad periphery, Revelations is played over the shoulder
, a styled pioneered by series pinnacle Resi 4. But though players will be able to switch between third and first person, the survival horror aspect has been reinstituted, with limited ammunition, cramped corridors and an abundance of puzzles.
Any of you interested in Revelations
, which at this stage should realistically be all of you, can download a new demo from the Nintendo eShop come January 19th.
