In an interview with Develop, Rockstar North's Leslie Benzies has claimed that the company has lots of ideas for the follow up to the record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V. Despite being released only a couple of weeks ago, the game has gone on to become one of the biggest selling video games, nay entertainment products, of all time.
When quizzed about the prospect of a sixth instalment in the series, Benzies said "We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do.We don’t know what GTA VI will be, but we’ve got some ideas."
Before you get too excited though, it's likely you're going to be waiting for quite a while to find out what these ideas are, as the company is placing its immediate focus on Grand Theft Auto Online and, after that, potential DLC for GTA V. "GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain’t no rest between finishing V and then Online," said Benzies. "Plus we have some other things – stuff, DLC, I don’t know how to describe it exactly – that we’d like to do, and we’ll pick the right ones."
Given the 5 1/2 year gap between GTA IV and GTA V, it's highly unlikely we'll see anything sequel related until the latter part of this decade but, knowing Rockstar North, it'll probably be worth the wait.
