US Army launches gaming peripheral range

The U.S. Army has partnered with CTA Digital to bring a range of branded video game accessories to market. Gamers are set to be prepared for combat with a selection of rifle controllers, backpacks and headsets from CTA Digital.

Among the lineup of gaming peripherals are two Assault Rifle controllers for PlayStation 3 owners that operate like DualShock controllers. All functions are mapped including the R1 bumper linked to the trigger. This accessory has apparently been designed to suit both left and right handed gamers. Both these rifles will be compatible with all popular PS3 first-person-shooters, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops andBattlefield 3.

The U.S. ArmyTM Sniper Action Rifle has been designed with PlayStation Move players in mind. The rifle allows players to remove the detachable scope, rear stock or muzzle. This accessory is compatible with all Move titles, including Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Socom 4.

CEO at CTA Digital, Sol Markowitz, said that the company hopes to have a long-lasting partnership with the army. He added, “We're proud and honoured that the Army chose to work with us.”
