War for Cybertron 2 rolls out 2012
Keep on Trucking
At a recent investor's day, Hasbro has revealed plans to provide a sequel for this summer's Transformers: War for Cybertron some time in 2012. Depending on how you found the clunky 3rd person shooter with some interesting game mechanics tacked on, this news will have varying reverberations. However whether you hailed the recent War for Cybertron as this years 'Arkham Asylum' (Love how that's now a comparative term) or simply an IP with significant untapped potential, considering the industry's penchant for turning out vastly improved sequels, Assassins Creed 2 for example, we could be legitimately looking at a Gears of War augmented with giant robots, lasers and space jets come 2012. Hasbro has also confirmed that the extremely dubiously titled third film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon (whatever that means) will receive a tie in game and the Transformers MMO will indeed see the light of day outside it's Asian audiences. So, just in case you were concerned the next couple of years wouldn't yield much in the way of your favourite battling, vehicular robots, fret not.
