Irish Apprentice contestant wins food award

The product delivered a good mixture of quality tasting seafood ... and is ideal for entertaining or as a weekend treat

The Irish woman fired by Alan Sugar on the UK’s The Apprentice has won a gong for seafood chowder her food firm makes for discount retailer Lidl.

Kilkenny go-getter Jane McEvoy (28), who runs McEvoy Family Foods with her husband Gary, picked up a silver medal in the prestigious Grocer Own Label Awards.

The judges said of the mum-of-one’s chowder: “The product delivered a good mixture of quality tasting seafood ... and is ideal for entertaining or as a weekend treat.”
