Former Westlife star Kian Egan
has warned singer Olly Murs
he’s poised to pinch his Xtra Factor job for good!
Kian (32) teamed up with co-host Caroline Flack to present all the behind-the-scenes action at X Factor’s boot camp in Liverpool this week while Olly Murs is on tour.
Kian is going all out for a TV career since Westlife broke up for good last month.
“I thought I was gonna have months off to chill and here I am watching the judges picking the acts!” he said.
“Can’t wait to ask them who and why!” He also revealed his delight at landing the job on the high-profile telly talent show. “Very exciting stuff,” tweeted Kian
“Can’t wait to see all the acts perform tomorrow. Loving this job!” The singer said over and over how much fun he was having on Xtra Factor and how he thought the team were amazing.
He added: “Well, all I say is: watch out, Olly Murs!” Kian was recruited for the boot-camp phase of X Factor but it’s not yet known if he’ll also anchor the round set in the judges’ homes. The former Voice Of Ireland judge had to watch the painful process of the X Factor turning into the axe factor yesterday.
Even before they got to sing solo and impress the judges, 60 of the contestants were dumped out of the boot camp. The 200 would-be stars were put together on stage at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on the very first night... and almost a third were sent straight home. It is believed show supremo Simon Cowell ordered the move amid fears that too many average acts were getting through.
