Girls Aloud beauty Nadine Coyle
is still mixing pop with pints as she revealed she was back working in her Irish bar yesterday.
The Derry diva has hired new chefs for her LA bar, Nadine’s Irish Mist
, and was busy working on the menu and new dishes.
“Today I am meeting with the new chefs at Nadine’s Irish Mist,’’ she said online. “We are going through recipes and plating.” The singer added: “I really do love the diversity in life.”
has never commented on reports last year that her Los Angeles bar was in financial trouble over an unpaid tax bill. The bar was reported to have owed €43,000 in taxes and the unpaid bill was rising by €353 a month because of interest.
Nadine opened the low-rise brown tavern
on the gritty Pacific Coast Highway in California nearly three years ago. The humble premises hardly matches her description of the place as “a wee piece of Ireland dropped into paradise”. She bought the building at 16655 Pacific Coast Highway which had fallen into a state of disrepair.
The pop star’s entire family began working in the venue after they opened the doors in March 2009. Nadine’s mum and dad, Niall and Lilian, and her younger sister Rachel (23) are believed to be involved in the day-to-day running the pub which is located off Sunset Beach.
Her older sister Charmaine (30) and her brother-in-law Noel Moore were also involved at the start. However, her dad Niall is listed as the sole agent for the company running the bar. Nadine is registered on the deeds as one owner of the building that houses the bar.
