Three teenage girls are the envy of the world after One Direction’s Niall Horan
invited them into his home for tea when they turned up on his doorstep.
The big-hearted 18-year-old was at home in his native Mullingar in Co Westmeath at lunchtime yesterday when he got an unexpected knock on the door.
“They were hanging around the park for about 15 minutes before they finally plucked up the courage and walked up to his front door,” a source told The Star
“A young man opened the upstairs window and chatted to them first before the front door opened — then out of the blue, Niall’s blonde head peeped around the door and next thing they walked inside,” she added.
“They must have been in there for about 45 minutes, they were grinning like Cheshire cats after they left, they were very happy, I suppose it’s every teenage girl’s dream.”
The mystery trio travelled 90km from their home in Dundalk in the hope of glimpsing the singer at his home.
A neighbour said: “One told us they had got the train to Dublin from Dundalk, then got the bus to Mullingar. They were really nervous but I’m glad they walked up to the door — Niall’s a good lad and he wouldn’t have turned them away.”
The kind gesture might put to bed any fears Niall has of being “terrified” of his female fans, after his dad recently said he gets panicky from all the attention.
The neighbour added: “He didn’t look fazed at all and was happy to see them.”
Niall has been enjoying time out with family and friends in Mullingar before he and the boys return to the studio in the UK. On Sunday he told his almost five million Twitter followers he was “jamming” with his pal, Voice of Ireland finalist Graham Dowling, and got treated to a slap-up roast dinner by his granny Maggie.
He was also seen at a gig by his pal Bressie
on Saturday. The 18-year-old was snapped with Zoe Bohorquez from girlband Underground
at the Bressie gig in Mullingar.
