Paul WS Anderson, Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez talk zombies!
We’re just back from the press conference for Resident Evil Retribution, where writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson and stars Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez spoke about the latest film in the action series.

Retribution is the fifth outing for the franchise, which debuted 10 years ago in 2002. Inspired originally by the popular Capcom game series, the movies have taken on their own identity in recent years – mainly by moving away from pure horror and closer to a sci-fi feel, as well as much more focus on action.

The latest film follows immediately on from the story in 2010’s Afterlife, with Alice continuing to fight back against the Umbrella corporation as a new strain of the virus begins to spread around the world.

As with Afterlife, Retribution has also been shot in 3D and Anderson remains one of the few directors working today who actually seems to understand how to shoot in the format. The team has crafted their own 3D camera rig for this latest entry and Anderson claims that this will certainly be the “best 3D he’s done yet”.

We can’t say much more about Retribution at the moment but fans should definitely get ready for an even more epic adventure later this year.

Resident Evil: Retribution is in cinemas from the 14th of September 2012.
