We recently caught up with actor Lee Pace to talk about his role in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as enigmatic elf Thranduil but we couldn't resist quizzing the 34 year old on whether he'll finally join Twitter andhis Marvel debut as Ronan the Accuser.
When we spoke to Pace on Saturday the 1st of October, he had literally wrapped shooting on James Gunn'sGuardians of the Galaxy less than 24 hours before. In the film he plays the central antagonist, Ronan the Accuser, a superstrong humanoid working for big bad Thanos to bring the Guardians down.
So how would Pace describe Ronan?
"He’s a fucking psycho!" Laughs Pace. "He’s a real monster. I’ve had the best time playing this character. I’m glad its all on film and I never thought I could be so nuts in it!"
The Oklahoma born actor is better know for more mannered roles, like the story-teller in The Fall or even the laconic Garret in 2012's Breaking Dawn - Part 2. But he working with this director has helped to bring out the monster in him. "James Gunn is just putting together a phenomenal movie and I’ve had the best time working with him on it. And yea we’ve made a monster of an alien!"
Guardians of the Galaxy will be the penultimate Marvel Phase II flick ahead of The Avengers: Age of Ultron in summer 2015 and will also star Chris Pratt, ZoeSaldana, VinDiesel, John C. Reilly and BradleyCooper.
Pace will next appear in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, in cinemas from the 13th of December 2013.
Guardians of the Galaxy debuts in August 2014.
