Today we’ve got a first look at the latest from Irish filmmaker
Lenny Abrahamson with
Frank.
After the success of
Adam & Paul,
Garage and last year’s
What Richard Did (
which now has a connection to Transformers 4!) Irish director
Lenny Abrahamson has his sights set on something more ambitious for his next project.
Frank is a comedy about a musical sort, played by
Domhnall Gleeson, who hooks up with a group of certifiable musicians led by the enigmatic Frank (
Michael Fassbender). Also in the mix is his mental sidekick Clara played by
MaggieGyllenhaal as well as
Killing Me Softly star
Scoot McNairy and real instrument player Carla Azar.
The first official still from the film has been released and can be seen above and below in larger form. It shows
Gyllenhaal and
Gleeson standing next to
Fassbender who is wearing a
Frank Sidebottom mask and holding a tin of… something. That’s really all we know right now.

What's this all about then?
Enlarge Abrahamson is directing from a script by
JonRonson (
The Men Who Stare and Goats) and
Peter Straughan (
Tinker Tailor), based on a memoir by
Ronson and drawing on the life of queer chappie
Chris Sievey, better known as
Frank Sidebottom.
There’s no release date for Frank yet but we’ll keep you informed on any updates.
