PES 2014 secures Argentinian license
A major coup.
The Pro Evolution Soccer franchise continues to add to its licenses with the announcement that Konami signed an agreement with the Argentinian Football Association (AFA) to bring the 20 AFA Primera División Teams and some of the corresponding home stadiums into Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (PES 2014). The voices of Argentinian FOX Sports’ Mariano Closs and Fernando Niembro will also feature to provide commentary on the action.

This particular license is a victory of sorts for the Pro Evolution Soccer series because it is one of the more sought after in EA’s rival franchise. As we heard from FIFA 14 Producer, Sebastian Enrique, it is one that FIFA fans request time after time, so we’re sure that the licensing team at Konami is delighted with its accomplishment.

PES 2014 will utilise the new FOX engine, which Konami states will allow for “the most comprehensive advance in the PES franchise since its inception.” Six elements - M.A.S.S., TrueBall Tech, Heart, PES ID, Team Play and Core – are at the heart of gameplay and should make the title feel more natural and realistic. PES 2014 will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PSP on September 24th in North America.

The 20 Primera División teams included in PES 2014 include:
  • All Boys
  • Argentinos Juniors
  • Arsenal
  • Atlético de Rafaela
  • Belgrano
  • Boca Juniors
  • Colón
  • Estudiantes
  • Gimnasia y Esgrima
  • Godoy Cruz
  • Lanús
  • Newell's Old Boys
  • Olimpo
  • Quilmes
  • Racing
  • River Plate
  • Rosario Central
  • San Lorenzo
  • Tigre
  • Vélez Sarsfield
