After a mysterious cargo plane crashes in downtown London, a group of people are trapped in a nearby storage facility while something not of this earth stalks them like prey.

Noel Clarke is something of a one man film industry. Best known as the writer of 2006s Kidulthood, he’s also penned a further six films in as many years as well as directing two of them – Adulthood and 4.3.2.1. And that’s not counting his appearances as an actor in everything from Centurion to the upcoming Star Trek sequel.

He writes and stars in Storage 24, a sci-fi creature feature that defies expectations a) by being British and b) by looking rather good. It’s got the isolated location, the cannon fodder cast and an alien design that looks suitably creepy and non terrestrial.

Clarke is joined on screen by our Ireland's own Colin O’Donoghue, who has been keeping himself out of the limelight since an effective enough turn opposite Anthony Hopkins in The Rite. He’s one half of the two couples which make up the foursome stuck in Storage 24 – there to sort out their belongings after a break up. We’re willing to bet mortal peril brings them back together.

The film is directed by Johannes Roberts, who earned some acclaim for evil teen’s horror F last year – which was most memorable for the moment when someone’s jaw gets ripped out in explicit detail. If that sounds good to you, check it out. Let’s hope this sci-fi monster gets just as mean spirited with the human body parts.
