Apple still clinging to pole position in the battle for smartphone supremacy
New data from ComScore indicates that iPhone holds 2:1 advantage over Android
Despite growing speculation that Apple had finally been toppled from its position as king of the smartphones, the latest data from ComScoreshows that the iPhone manufacturer is still sitting pretty in first place, in the United States at least. Although the data is centred only around subscriptions to ComScore's MobiLense service, the figures offer imperical evidence that the iPhone is still consistently out performing all Android OS based phones combined.

With the iPhone 5 set to launch later this year (current speculation is suggesting that it is likely to hit stores around September, albeit with minimal changes to the design and feature set of the iPhone 4), the news couldn't have come at a better time for Apple who have recently been the subject of many questions relating to the health of CEO Steve Jobs.
