Facebook launching App Centre
Find apps that connect with Facebook quickly and easily.
Facebook has announced plans to launch the App Centre, which will help users discover the best apps that connect with the social networking site. It has promised that the chart will be tailored to each user, so the top apps won’t stay affixed to the top spot based on popularity alone. Facebook will take usage patterns into account when highlighting particular apps.

Facebook employee, Aaron Brady, posted on Facebook’s Developers blog that developers should start preparing their app for the launch of the App Centre. He said, “For the over 900 million people that use Facebook, the App Center will become the new, central place to find great apps like Draw Something, Pinterest, Spotify, Battle Pirates, Viddy, and Bubble Witch Saga.” Brady also explained that each app will have a detail page, highlighting what makes an app unique.

There are some requirements and guidelines that developers should be familiar with before this launch. All apps must have an app detail page for example, and this must follow a certain layout. Brady posted that apps submitted before May 18th will be prioritised, but no official launch date has been announced yet.
