Instagram testing Android offline mode

Instagram is currently testing offline support for the Instagram Android app, as revealed at the Facebook F8 developer conference held yesterday (via TechCrunch).

Offline support will enable Instagram users to access and browse through the photo-sharing platform’s preloaded feed in addition to liking or saving posts even when they are without an Internet connection.

Any actions a user takes while offline will be completed once they reconnect to the Internet, and the company is considering developing an iOS version of the feature.

As the TechCrunch article notes, offline support will help provide users with a better experience regardless of Internet connectivity capabilities.
