SmartGlass SDK released to chosen few
What wonders will they create?
Microsoft has released the Software Development Kit (SDK) for SmartGlass, but only to Microsoft employees and partners signed up to the Microsoft Game Developer Network. The SDK includes the SmartGlass studio, along with a JavaScript library for cross-platform development and a sample application to show what the platform is capable of. This release is ahead of the launch of SmartGlass later this year and will showcase the content and applications that can be created for use with SmartGlass.

At E3, Microsoft showed off a number of ways in which SmartGlass could be used. It could be used in conjunction with EA’s Madden franchise to map out and select plays, it could show waypoint information from Halo 4 or act as a portable player for movies and videos. SmartGlass will launch “later this year” and it will be interesting to see what developers can do with it.
